Our photo sessions are relaxed, casual and natural, as we feel the best images are taken when you are less aware of the camera. We will not pose you but instead will help with direction to make sure you aren’t feeling stiff or awkward in front of the camera.
Absolutely! We encourage anyone who is an important part of your family to be involved! It’s a celebration of this time in your lives!
Pet, Family, or Maternity sessions are approx. 1 hour.
Newborn sessions will be between 1-2 hours. All our sessions are very relaxed, but the extra time allows for feeding and settling bub, as well as cuddles along the way.
The short answer is, whatever you feel most comfortable with and what reflects your own style. But don’t worry, this is all part of the planning process. During your pre-session consultation, we will discuss your outfit options so you look and feel great!
Family & pet sessions are welcome at any time and it’s best to book early if you have a specific date in mind. School holidays are booked out early, as are weekend sessions. We’d recommend getting in touch as early as possible.
If you are booking a newborn session, it is best to contact us around the start of your second trimester, but it’s never too early. I will pencil in your due date, then once your baby has arrived we can finalise a time and date for your session. Newborn sessions are usually during the first two weeks when they’re at their sleepiest.
Maternity sessions are best around the 28 – 34 week mark, but can be done at any stage.Please bear in mind the time of year as we all know how hot and uncomfortable north Queensland summers are. We offer popular sunrise sessions during summer which are STUNNING for beach sessions.
Sessions take place in our comfortable Bayview Heights Studio at 220 Toogood Rd.
After your photoshoot we will get together again to view your photos.
This is a really exciting day for everyone!
Together we will sit down to watch an image reveal of your beautiful photos captured on the day of your session. Once you have seen all of your photos I will help you choose a package to suit your style, your home and your budget.
With cutting edge studio software, we are able to mock up wall groupings with all of your favourite images. This way you will be able to see exactly what your photos will look like on your walls.
All our sessions are $200.
This includes a pre-design consultation, your session itself and our time to edit your gallery of photos.
Digital images and art work are not included in this fee.

This is what we do. We are big believers in printing your photos and we are here to help you every step of the way.
Yes we absolutely have interest free payment plans, which mean you can take home your photos and artwork straight away.
Digital packages start at $995. Wall art starts at $995. Our collections range from $1395 to $6675.

The session fee is due at the time of booking to secure your session. You are not required to choose your package up front, therefore I don’t ask for any further payment until you have viewed your gallery and placed your order (at your Design & Purchasing appointment).
Our studio is located 10 mins from Cairns CBD in Bayview Heights.

About this policy
By Heart Photography (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and share your personal information when you contact us, book a session, enter one of our giveaways or competitions, fill in one of our forms (including Facebook and Instagram lead forms), or visit our website.
We are a portrait photography studio based in Cairns, Queensland. We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What information we collect
We only collect the information we need. Depending on how you deal with us, this may include:
Your name, email address and phone number
Your postal address, if you win a prize or order products
Answers you give in our forms, enquiries or giveaway entries
Your marketing preferences, including whether you have agreed to receive offers from us
Booking details, such as session dates, who will be photographed and any preferences you share
Payment records (we do not store full card details; payments are processed by our payment provider)
Photographs taken during your session
Basic website and advertising data, such as which ad or page you came from
How we collect it
We collect information directly from you, for example when you:
Fill in a form on our website or a Facebook or Instagram lead form
Enter a giveaway or competition
Email, phone or message us, including through social media
Book or attend a photography session
When you fill in a Facebook or Instagram lead form, Meta may pre-fill some details from your profile. You can check and change these before you submit.
How we use it
We use your information to:
Respond to your enquiries
Book, prepare for and deliver your photography session and products
Run giveaways and competitions, including contacting winners and sending prizes
Process payments and keep business records
Send you offers and updates, but only if you have agreed to receive them
Improve our services, website and advertising
We will not use your information for any other purpose unless you agree or the law allows it.
Marketing and opting out
We only send marketing emails and SMS messages to people who have agreed to receive them, for example by ticking the marketing box on one of our forms. Entering a giveaway does not, on its own, sign you up for marketing.
You can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our emails, replying STOP to our SMS messages, or contacting us directly.
Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not pass it on to other businesses for their own marketing.
We only share information with trusted service providers that help us run our business, and only as needed for them to do so. These include:
Our customer management and booking system (HighLevel), which stores contact details and sends our emails and SMS messages
Meta (Facebook and Instagram), when you submit a lead form through their platforms
Our payment provider, website host and online gallery provider
Postal and courier services, to deliver prizes and products
Some of these providers store data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Photos and images of clients
The photographs from your session are personal to you. We will only use images of you or your children on our website, social media or in advertising if you permit us.
You can withdraw that permission at any time. We will then stop using the images in new material and remove them from our website and social media where we reasonably can.
Storage and security
We store your information in secure, password-protected systems and take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.
We keep your information only for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, or as required by law (for example, tax records).
Access, correction, complaints and contact
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will respond within 30 days.
If you have a concern about how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to fix it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
