Calling all Cairns DOG LOVERS!
We are looking for Cairns' cutest, craziest or sweetest dogs to help raise funds for a local dog rescue charity.
Is your Dog a dashing Dachshund, boisterous Bitzer, fabulous Frenchie or any other of the many AWESOME doggy breeds and bitzers we have here in Cairns.
Last year, we photographed 100+ dogs, raised $11,000 for charity, and hosted a moving Art Exhibition celebrating our furry friends.
This year, we’re stepping it up to make your dog FUR-ever famous in a Boutique Photography Book, a delightful tribute to the dogs of Cairns!
We are on the hunt for Cairn’s most gorgeous, lovable (and maybe a little diva-ish) pooches to help raise funds for North Queensland Animal Rescue.
Your FABULOUS furbaby will feature in a one-of-a-kind “Puparazzi” Pawtrait Book created here at By Heart Photography.
And we need YOUR help! We’re on the hunt for the following doggie breeds:
- Dachshunds
- French Bulldogs
- Great Danes
- Working Dogs
- Pugs
- Staffies
- Collies
- Bitzers
OR ANY other breed in between! We would love to capture as many adorable pooches as our cameras can handle for this project.

NQAR are a Cairns based registered charity and is run entirely by volunteers. They accept dogs in need of re-homing through private surrender and from council pounds throughout north Queensland.

The Puparazzi Art Project is a fun charity project with the aim of raising $10,000 for a local dog rescue charity.
Your $95 participation fee AND 5% of sales will be donated in full to a local charity: North Qld Animal Rescue!

Every dog in the project will be featured in the exclusive Puparazzi coffee table book, celebrating the amazing dogs of Cairns. To ensure a cohesive design, we’ll select the image—but don’t worry, we’ll pick the absolute best one!
Plus, you’ll be invited to our VIP Book Launch later this year!
We hope to have the Project finished by October, but it really depends how quickly we fill the spaces and complete the sessions. We will keep every dog featured in the loop and let you know when we are ready to unveil your doggy star!
While you’re welcome to be in the photos, there’s no pressure to be at all! But hopefully we’ll make you feel relaxed and comfortable enough to give it a go. There’s no awkward posing and no rules. We’ll help you feel comfortable, get the laughs happening and make sure you have a relaxed and fun time. We promise you’ll enjoy it!
Your session fee covers your photoshoot, but the photos themselves are not included. After your session, you’ll visit the studio for your design and ordering appointment, where you can purchase stunning Wall Art, Fine Art Prints, Albums, digital files, plus a copy of the exclusive Puparazzi photography book.
